TogryersTransport Riders'

For a long time Ceres could only be reached on horse back and the "Transport Riders" (Togryers) played an important role in the development of the town. Only the opening of the Michell's Pass in 1848 made the place accessible to ox and horse carts. In the local museum the history of the town is documented. Especially impressive is a collection of coaches as they were used between 1880 and 1940. The museum is open mondays to fridays from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm. Tel. (023) 3122045.
