The Kruger Park is home to more than 500 bird species. Among them are many migratory birds like the African Hoepoe, the delicate Sunbirds, Hornbills, Cranes, numerous birds of prey like the Martial Eagle and several species of Kingfisher.
Lionesses in Krüger Park
Cheetah in Kruger Park
The elephant population has grown to over 10.000, whereby the park has reached its limits. Even the number of White Rhinos is - with 4,000 individuals - considerable. Only the Black Rhinos are with 200 animals still a worry.

The populations of the large predator cats lie at 2,500 lions, 2,000 leopards and 500 cheetahs. Unfortunately many of the Kruger Park lions are infected with tuberculosis.
