Underberg / Himeville
The little town of Underberg on the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg has about 1500 inhabitants and serves as a supply centre for the surrounding farms. It has a supermarket and one should stock up here before driving on into the nature oarks of the Southern Berg.
Neighbouring Himeville - just 6 kilometres from Underberg - is smaller and offers hardly any shops. But it has a little museum for local history - housed in an old fort - and a popular pub, the "Himeville Arms", where one can also get an evening meal.
